Gryphon Construction won
for the 'Best Safety Idea' at April's Safety Expo. Pen II was responsible for
the entry which consisted of using industrial fans with water mist which was
fabricated on site by members of the team and headed up by Mark Werntz.
The
site was having a hard time coming out of the ground due the heat
imposed on the
workers. The best of workers had a hard time lasting more than 4
hours in the blazing
heat without some form of 'Heat Stress'. The contest was judged by OSHA, AGC, and CASF who were all impressed with the idea and effort towards establishing a healthy work environment. We won 'hands down'. Attached is picture which depicts the idea and the environment Pen II created for its employees.
