Less than 6 months remain on the Everglades on the Bay’s construction schedule as the project’s expected TCO date of June 29, 2008 fast approaches. With over 700 construction workers and over 30 subcontractors onsite daily, the Everglades is entering its most critical stage.
Currently, the structural, glass/glazing, and masonry scopes are essentially complete. The Contractor continues to work from swing stages to complete the exterior stucco and painting scopes - with nearly 100 individual swing stage drops per tower, this is no small task! In the towers, drywall framing operations have reached the Penthouse levels at the 48th Floor of each tower. Unit interior build-out of the Flats and Lofts is ongoing on all levels of the Podium. The hardscape of the 32,000 square foot Pool Deck has taken shape, with waterproofing, topping slabs, and pool tile installations ongoing. The project looks forward to upcoming milestones including the removal of the North Tower crane and South Tower elevators passing inspection for temporary usage.
With $200M spent in construction hard costs to date, the sprint for the finish line has begun!
